I guess I’ll start by saying I don’t know that I am ready to start yet but I need to start somewhere. I want to talk about all the things but I haven’t done much writing so I believe there will be some learning to do. Anyone brave enough to try to stick with me during this learning process, I salute you. My goal with this blog is really just to have a good (more formal and put together than Facebook) medium to express my thoughts about existence and maybe be able to resonate with others who think like me. I would like to eventually be an influencer and be someone who spends a lot of time thinking about the complex problems we as a species face. I believe having people whos main job it is to think, is something our current economic model severely struggles to support but is very necessary for our long term survival. When people take time to sit down and think about things, they catch problems that others may have missed in. Experience, and deliberation of said experience, are equally important.
On a different note altogether but also somehow not, I’m quite tired of the accepted belief that humans should have to each individually prove they deserve to exist otherwise live a life of poverty, homelessness, and often feel shame for themselves. If luck wasn’t at play at all in any way shape or form I could almost back this idea (but still not really because a punishment should fit the crime and no crime is deserving of poverty), but since luck absolutely is a component, I absolutely cannot and will not back this model. I understand the necessity of this model in the ye-olden times where resources where scarce but that is no longer the case and just like we learned how to fly, I 100% believe we can learn to stop living just to survive and start living to thrive, because we have the resources to do it, now we just need the majority to stand up for themselves and demand a new way of thinking. We can do it, it’s hard, but I believe we can do it.
So There, there are some words. I hope whoever you are you enjoyed reading this and more hopefully you are rich enough to fund me since the system doesn’t inherently value non product centric work. Great start! I think you are going to be good at this! I’m not sure exactly what an “influencer” is – but I’m not a millennial so there’s that. Take it from an old(er) lady – just be yourself and you’ll do fine. Love your insights on the world from Facebook so I’m looking forward to more here! Good luck!

Thank you for your comment. 🙂 To me an influencer is basically a public figure that helps to guide public opinion through their own understanding of the world. Much like activists guide public opinion on political ideas, influencers help shape people’s understandings of all things. Truthfully, all religious leaders are influencers, the differences between what I want to be and them is that I don’t arrive at my understandings through dogma but through careful observation of the world and that I don’t plan on indoctrinating anyone but rather putting my ideas out there in as clear and coherent a way as possible in hopes that people think about them and maybe resonate with them to see some if not a lot of validity in them.
